Love is risky. It opens us up to joy, but also to heartache. To love is to make ourselves vulnerable—to disappointment, to loss, to wounds we didn’t see coming. But the alternative isn’t safety; it’s isolation. Jesus didn’t love from a distance. He stepped into our brokenness, knowing full well the cost. Love led Him to the cross, and yet He loved anyway. So will love hurt? Sometimes. But will it be worth it? Always. Because a life without love isn’t really life at all. Love anyway.
