However, in Severance 207 we see reference to the "Severance Barriers" (plural) holding, and "the technology is working". The implication being that the technology used to not work. But the barriers? What is that? And what is the technology?

However we now see that as Gemma is take from room to room on the testing floor she receives a new room-specific personality... meaning she has her outie, and countless innies.
