I first visited Belgium in the spring of 2023. I remember feeling cold & thinking, “How am I ever going to survive in this weather?”. When I moved for good during spring last year, I spent weeks sweating in triple layers. I didn’t understand Dutch & I didn’t want to cycle. I remember crying to myself, “How am I ever going to survive this country?”. But this spring, i ride the snelbus home after work. And bc it’s sunny, I rent a velo & cycle the last km without my coat or gloves on.
