1. My PDA (Autistic/ADHD) child didn't want to go to kindy today. And at first, she really couldn't. I could see that, so I didn't force it. But oh my goodness did I need the break. I'm in burnout & I'm exhausted. I've been at war with myself a little over sending her to kindy. Meltdowns have increased, we have to do a lot more work to get her back to a baseline, and lower even more demands than usual. Toileting has taken a back seat as we manage transitions. So I was honest with her.

"I love rest!", she said, as she rolled on the mellow mat. I agreed. She climbed onto the couch & asked me to put the TV on. I told her that I wasn't putting the TV on today either. I needed some quiet time. She was upset. "I know", I validated her emotions. I started to tell her about how when I was a little girl, I would sometimes not want to go to school, too.
