This! I just started an in person one and have 28 people in the FB group but only 7 show up to meetings, and even fewer read the book :/ everyone romanticizes it and the person running it usually ends up feeling like the effort isn’t worth it anymore

That’s it’s! Everyone romanticizes it because it it’s a cultured thing to do. They don’t even read vigorously. Joining a book club won’t make you start reading.
