Five years ago my work had an all-hands meeting to discuss something called “Coronavirus.” In this meeting, one of the top bosses said to continue working as this was possibly a “hoax.” I’ll always be grateful to the OTHER top boss (a woman) who came into my office and quietly told me that if I wanted to go home, I could. (I was seven months pregnant). I gathered all my things and was able to say goodbye to an office I never returned to. The office was shut down for COVID two days later.
