My ex used to start fights to keep me from leaving for work (the only place I was allowed to go without him). Now every night at exactly 7:40 pm (nightshift) I'm getting ready like this bc my nervous system is preparing for a fight. It's almost been a year. Verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse should be punishable by law.
