If you're sure about the size (though 36 and 38 Ds are different cup volumes - the 38D is the same as a 36DD), look for bras with the straps more centered. Not balcony or demi. The 36s are going to be narrower in you frame. Anita Lotta in a medium or large would be great start. I say medium if you're more a 36. You might be more comfortable in a large but it won't be as supportive.
