If annexation is happening under duress rather than genuine consent, then it’s not just annexation—it’s a form of economic aggression or modern-day colonialism. In other words colonization via "hostile takeover" as they would say in the business world. It's not simply "annexation". Canada's greater majority is absolutely against this. If we look at history the colonized usually lose many of their rights and freedoms as well as land and possessions. Their political systems are erased. 1/2
