Question from a recent trip to Tokyo; are all of the foreign staff at restaurants and convenience stores actually miserable or was it just coincidence that a hundred percent of those encountered only mumbled in depressing tone and lumbered about sluggishly? Not used to that in Hokkaido.

Foreign staff are also usually students with difficult hours, so tired constantly. and I've read previously they are often mistreated, bullied and wage theft is a big issue for them.
