StoryTime: as a teenager in NYC because there was a so-called “Black & Latina teen pregnancy epidemic” (lies) my pediatrician when I was a teen wanted me to take a pregnancy test. I was not sexually active until college and I had to advocate for myself interpret for my abuelita (my guardian) and have her advocate for me as well. I didn’t take the pregnancy test. The stupid crap we have to put up with as girls women and being sexualized because we are Black or Latina girls makes me 🤮
