Our local school board voted 4-3 to use religious curriculum in public elementary schools. This leaves no access to secular school in a city of nearly 100K. That’s the post I made Monday with zero expectation it would get much traction. I had been posting about the Bluebonnet Reading Language Arts curriculum for weeks, but that particular thread went viral so here’s the rest of the story… 🧵

It’s K-5 ELAR curriculum. ➡️ Yes, I can remove my children from class for any lesson. However our dep superintendent says the alt lessons do not meet state curriculum standards. My kids would be in/out of class since the content is consistently problematic. ➡️ No, I will not move. I will not shut up. I will not get over myself. I will fight this.

I have been reading through the curriculum and it is infused with not just Biblical references but is also obviously agenda driven. So many references to “religious liberty/freedom”where there isn’t a reason for that term and it doesn’t even apply.
