Get properly fitted in running shoes Walking, walk/run, slow all OK!!! Find a good audiobook or podcast to keep paces slow and even, music for when you want to work on paces.

Just because it's called a run doesn't mean you have to run the entire time. Take strategic, purposeful walk breaks if necessary.

If you're not doing an interval/speed season and your pace feels hard to maintain, slow down. Slow way tf down. Go even slower. Anecdotally, most people give up because "it's too hard", but every time I talk to them about their runs, they're always trying to run faster than their previous run. Slow down the pace and enjoy the process. Speed will come with time.

Your shoes need to be bigger than you think.

Don’t worry about your time or the time of the person next to you. Run your own race. And have fun. It should be fun!

Get fitted for proper shoes that suit you. Buy good (but expensive) socks: I personally prefer Balegas. Run in a baseball cap or visor - will keep the sun or rain off your face. Make some banging playlists, or find a podcast you like. Most importantly trust the process and don’t get discouraged by a bad run. Take it one step at a time xx

Make sure to stretch before every run. YouTube has good videos on this and just about anything else
