QUESTION FOR AMERICANS ONLY: if you're an American at a non-French restaurant in the US and see "frites" on the menu, do to think: "frites just means fries, so it can be any type of fry, from shoestring to wedges" OR do you think "Frites is a specific style of fry from Belgium\France; that's why they're calling them 'frites' and not 'fries' on the menu".
