Unpopular Opinion: The one-and-done rule in college basketball is a disservice to the NBA and the NCAA. Players should have to play 3 years of college before they declare for the draft.

I'd rather it be like Baseball. If a player wants to go straight from high school to the NBA or G League he can but if he goes to college he's not Eligible until after his Junior year

Only the revenue sports dominated by black athletes have to stop through the NCAA to go pro. How is it affecting the MLB and PGA? Let the NBA and NFL create farm systems like baseball

Notice how your unpopular opinion considers the disservice to two entities, while conveniently leaving out the player.

It may be a disservice to the quality of the game, but it's fair. The having to play X amount of years in college before turning pro, is only a thing in leagued with mostly black athletes.

At the end of the day sports are an extracurricular activity not a feeder farm.

I like the idea of adopting the same rules they have in MLB, if they are good enough to get drafted, let them go straight to the league. If not, then they have to commit to at least 2-3 years of college before they are eligible to be drafted again.

No they shouldn’t. We don’t tell no other person at 18 in any other profession that they can’t seek work so why are we doing it for 18/19 year olds in college? Trust there are only 540 to 580 players on NBA rosters in the world. If they have a chance to make a roster and make a living as a professional basketball player why shouldn’t they do it? If they fail or not good enough to last then that’s the price that is paid and they should have a plan B. With NIL they have incentive to stay anyway.

The players union, nor the NBA give AF about your opinion. They could have easily collectively bargained 3 years like the NFL, but keep choosing to allow teens to enter the league. Oh and it not an unpopular or even new opinion. It is basic and lame and has existed since more players started declaring early.
