Today someone in conversation with me tried to jokingly shame an actress for having aged. I was expected to laugh, but instead I just maintained the uncomfortable silence. At his second attempt I made a comment on how we all age (if lucky) and left it at that. It is not even about the person making the joke, it just baffles me every time how blind we are to ageism and how happily (and dumbly) we are hexing our future selves with it...
