I was nervous too but a few weeks ago I flew from NY to Spokane with a layover in Atlanta (and back the same route) on Delta and all my flights were early and I had no issues. I even had a puppy with me on the way there. This was the best flight experience from NY I have had since moving here 5 years ago and probably 10 flights.
