I'm in the "I loved it" camp. Why? I thought Johnson took some chances with it, doing some things unexpected in a Star Wars film. One thing in particular was allowing Luke to be a source of humor in the film. (He even manages to steal a scene away from Yoda, for Pete's sake!) A theme in the film was throwing out the old and starting fresh- I suspect time will be kind to this movie.

Agreed. I prefer a story that will dare to do something new and unexpected rather than just give fan service. “Oh, Leia left Chewie his medal after 30 years of hiding it!” sort of stuff.
