I can’t stop thinking about Yolanda Perez-Magallon’s cry as she was arrested by ICE. The audacity to hear this and still say ‘Goodbye’ with a smile is beyond comprehension. Why is this the only option? Why are we tearing families apart and punishing people for trying to survive? We need a system grounded in compassion, not fear. Right now, it feels like ‘We see you, but your existence doesn’t matter.’ This is not only a failure of leadership, it’s a direct attack on human dignity.
