Genuine question: how is Invincible satire? What criticisms/critiques is it making concerning superhero comics or stories? Maybe the comic does a better job, but, so far, the show has really just been a standard superhero story with more violence, blood, and gore than your standard DC or Marvel main title.

I think initially it was going to be written as a satire considering how much it parodies DCs justice league and Kryptonians, but eventually just spiraled into its own thing. I genuinely believe the series was kickstarted with the "what if superman were evil" thought

Its also meant to more showcase how badly Mark *doesn't* want to be a superhero. The whole point of his character in the comics is how much he really learns to hate having power. He's forced to watch his friends and loved ones die or be in danger day in and day out. You can already see how much it's starting to happen at the end of season 3 with how he's suddenly a lot softer on killing people then when he had rigid beliefs and ideals about what being a superhero is and means.

I mean, the first episode is Superman killing the Justice League. That's self-explanatory. The current season is less of a direct parody but it's still a pretty harsh critique of how neat and clean solutions are in Marvel and DC

I would say it is it’s own thing and contains come elements of comentary, or counterpoints to other superhero works. The Boys on the other hand is actually satire.

It's not. It's a superhero series, only it doesn't follow the typical ways of doing things, it's handled in an original way. Maybe every now and then it makes a joke about the most typical superheroes, but nothing more, it's not The Boys. (I haven't read the comic but the argument applies equally from what I know)

However, it has many more differences from traditional superheroes than just the blood, even though it is not satire

Only thing I can see as satire is maybe the "what if superman was evil" but tbh it's more so what if superman's dad was evil, and then just progresses as a normal story from there.

it's not satire, more like a reconstruction

I dont get satire at all but it definitely has dived more into the side where we see how heros can be possibly a detriment to society rather than an asset. Mark being earths only hope is idk an oxymoron because while his being there provides some protection it also makes earth a target for all of his enemies. I definitely am seeing a new PoV similar to what the boys has provided
