Didn't you have training to be a foster parent? Of course, it's perfectly OK for those kids to do chores as long as they are fairly distributed and appropriate to their ages. Why would you listen to birth mom? If it wasn't covered in your training (which would be really alarming) then you should have a caseworker you can go to with questions.
