The funny thing is that, inflicting death is not even extreme. Heck it's not even a punishment, it's a release from accountability. After all, you can no longer hold a dead person accountable for the crimes they have committed.

kaso, if we view accountability as something that requires continued suffering or reparation, then yes, death could be seen as an "escape." but that depends on how we define justice... punishment for the sake of suffering, or a decisive consequence for unforgivable actions. 🤔
