Cuz it reduces their kid to a label, centres the parent, and it feels like it’s turning parenting into a brand. What does “boy mom” even mean? Like, thanks for telling me? Kids are just kids.
And “autism mom” shifts the focus away from the child and onto the parent, as if their experience of raising an autistic kid is the defining struggle.
It’s all so dehumanizing and self indulgent. 🤢
