Tbf that’s on your rail networks not your state sizes :) yes Texas is bigger than France yada yada. Germany is bigger than France and they have a very thorough rail system. Also not every French person goes to Paris to protest.

Also like the problem we are having here is not just at the federal level. Protests at the state and local level are all super valid. Those problems have to be fixed to. They just don't usually reach across the pond vis socials.

The lack of public transportation is an important factor. Never mind DC, my state capital is an hour and a half away and for someone without a car, the only way to get there is by a once daily Greyhound bus. When that's full, there's nothing.

So how do thousands of people attend concerts and festivals? This is the lamest excuse for letting your country fail ever. It's literally saying it's too hard. I live in a small city in Canada. We have a festival every summer that people come to from all over. Thousands come. To listen to music. Pretty sure even more would come if a crazy evil man and an unelected maniac had hijacked our government.

We can't even drive to Juneau anyway. It's awfully convenient that's the case too

Another reason is very fragmented organization so far. It's slowly developing now, but there haven't been influential leaders (people who are known broadly and really trusted) calling for protests, many communities are scattered and what I keep seeing is smaller actions that only small numbers find out about in time. There are also too many well-meaning people with misplaced faith that next elections will fix things. All this in addition to the geography issue.

This is the lamest excuse ever. You have multi-million cities, America’s population is actually pretty concentrated. You don’t need people to travel far. You just need enough people mobilized where it matters. FYI, in France, the whole country is not going to Paris every time there is a demo. They go to the closest city. What you see in TV is Parisians only. The difference is collectivism versus individualism. If you only care about your own a**, this is what you get.

Do you actually think when there's protests in Paris, people from all over France attend?

Many in the US have no leave and live paycheck to paycheck. They setup so many systems that largely insulate from the ability to organize.
