When I moved into my dorm at Scripps college in 1982 the alumni association had left a brownie and handwritten note welcoming each student. I was so nervous and scared that day but still remember that note and brownie and feeling like I found the right place. Never underestimate personal touches whether you are a hotel, a college or small business
