As the wife and the mother of men who are veteran and active military, respectively, it makes me cringe when people use the expression “stolen valour” to indicate Americans pretending to be Canadians. One is ineffectual role playing, the other is an imposter who lies about military service and courageous actions. To me it’s not the same .
