I was waiting in line at Starbucks today when I saw something that made my stomach drop. A Latin mom, holding her baby, stepped up to order. In soft, hesitant English, she said, Caramel macchiato… con leche, please. The barista let out a loud sigh, rolled her eyes, and muttered, "They never bother to learn English." The mom’s face fell.
