Living in the U.S. is really no joke. I don’t have a mortgage or car loan, but just the property tax alone is about $18,500 USD a year for one house—that’s nearly 600,000 NTD just for property tax. Then there’s health insurance. For myself, it’s over $700 USD a month (around 20,000+ NTD) and that’s for the lowest coverage. For my two kids, it’s $500 USD each per month (around 30,000 NTD total). So just property tax + health insurance = $20,400 + $18,500 per year = $38,900 USD a year
