Athens is amazing. Always plenty going on, beautiful downtown, campus, parks, etc., close enough to Atlanta to take advantage of all it offers (especially an international airport) but far enough that we’re not a suburb, incredible food scene, amazing community. But it’s gotten expensive and the politics are wonky. Athens-Clarke Co. is pretty blue, but our tiny (by area) county has been gerrymandered into 3 districts so that our votes are diluted by rural, red areas and our Reps reflect that.
