Vibrant green, fiery red, and a piercing gaze-these are the Great Green Macaws, one of the rarest parrots in the world. With fewer than 5000 left in the wild, they are fighting for survival in the rapidly disappearing rainforests of Central America. In the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, at aramanzanillo, conservationists are working to protect and reintroduce these birds back into their natural habitat. Here, rescued macaws get a second chance to fly free, contributing to the fragile population.
