For years I’ve been saying I was going to record my dad telling his story of getting his head split open by a white man with a brick in SC due to desegregation in schools, but after watching Sinners I am making this a priority. These stories deserved to be protected and shared for generations. Talk to your elders, write down those recipes, learn their spiritual practices, keep your family’s land if you’re blessed enough to have it. Don’t let your history and their stories die when they do.
