Are American tourists ok? I’m part of some Facebook groups for the island I’m living on and have seen some people crack the shits for the most bizarre reasons, such as: 🧵🪡

1. This tiny tropical island doesn’t have a Starbucks (?) and the poor Tahitian woman at their hotel didn’t know how to make them an ice coffee

The company I work for has a bunch of attractions, the newest one is a sound and light show about Van Gogh and Rembrandt, and it's set in a church. People are giving it 1 star because it isn't the Van Gogh Museum...

Is the island you live on, Australia? Or something a little smaller? 😊

I was amazed to see tourists flocking to a Starbucks in Zürich when even the most insignificant local “hole in the wall” serves better coffee.

my wife and i are traveling in europe right now and i can tell based on reviews of restaurants and people’s initial responses to us being american that they’ve had to deal with people who would be better served never leaving the resort.

I have 4 cousins, born and raised in the USA. English father, American mother. I was very surprised at how little they knew of the British half of their culture - they seemed to assume that everywhere would be the same as in the US. I think a lot of people from the USA make the same assumption! The first time I went to the USA, I found the bread to be very sweet tasting, and it looked yellow.

I work in Weymouth one of the top seaside towns in England. We regularly get complaints that there is seaweed in the sea, fish in the sea, and that the beach is too sandy.

We were in Mary Kings Close in Edinburgh https://www.realmarykingsclose.com/ When 2 American ladies asked what film it had been built for? The guide was totally lost for words, we were trying really hard not to laugh. The couldn’t understand that it was real!

In London once I saw an American Dad being borderline abusive to his daughter. I stayed and watched to make sure the young girl was okay. He freaked out at me for "staring at them" and aggressively told me to stop because he can do anything he damn wants to, it's HIS KID! I told him it doesn't work like that here and I will keep watching until I'm satisfied that his daughter is safe. "Fucking British people" came the reply. Charming man.
