I live close to a series of small ski hills that get snow for maybe 4 months a year. My grade 4 teacher used to tell us how southerners (hint hint) would show up asking where the ski hill was fully decked out to go skiing… in July. I just don’t understand.

The one where all Canadians pronounce “about” as “aboot”. I’ve never heard anyone say it that way unless it was someone trying to make a joke. I’m Canadian, not Scottish, so why would I pronounce it that way? (Yes, there’s probably a few people in the Maritimes that do, I’ve just never met anyone who actually does.)

I live in British Columbia and used to work in a call centre for a ski resort. I got asked “do we need to change our money to British pounds or does Canadian money work too?” What?

This was in about 1994 on road trip to Florida, heading home and driving through the Deep South, we stopped at a gas station. Someone asked about the block heater plug hanging out the front. My dad told them it was an electric car

I went to a VS in Arizona back in '04 before they opened in Canada, mentioned to the salesperson that we don't have VS in Canada and she interpreted that as "we don't have bras in Canada" and tried to educate me. I had visible bra straps showing.
