Post avoidant discard - This is where it gets more interesting, or confusing. Respect their wishes like a mature adult and grant them the breakup. Avoidants are notorious for reaching out after X amount of time if they had space for the triggers to die down. As the stress of emotional intimacy diminishes, they start to miss everything else that was good. Please note, vast majority of cases, their maladaptive coping mechanisms have NOT changed. They only miss you at a very suface level.
