The word translated “sin” is hamartánō, meaning “To sin, to miss a mark on the way, not to hit the mark.” It’s also an archery term used whenever the archer missed the bullseye. 1 John 3:4 tells us the mark is regarding God’s Law, because to miss the mark is lawlessness. Leviticus 19:2 is the expectation, holiness as God is Holy. So to sin, according to Scripture, is to miss the mark of God’s perfect holiness according to God’s Law. Which is why “all have sinned” and “there is none righteous”.

The word “sin” in Greek is the word “hamartia”, which means “to miss the mark”, like an archer missing the bullseye of his/her target. When we Christians talk about the word “sin”, what we really mean is “transgression”, which is the purposeful and habitual practice of sinning, or “missing the mark”. If we continue sinning on purpose, we will fall out of grace because that is considered transgression.

Sun is the transgression of Gods law which is referred to as perfect, liberty and certainly possible to keep. See Deut 28-30, psalm 19 and psalm 119.

In several places. There are many kinds of sin. Example: Thou shall not kill—10 Commandments. Perhaps the worst sin.

There is one verse like yo dawg the blasphemy of the spirit is the only unpardonable sin. And since it’s the only one and unpardonabl, which seems super important.. the Bible speaks way more on the subject. No, wait, it doesn’t 😆
