Why do people equate podcasts with videos on YouTube? I don't believe that people watch podcasts. They watch videos or video series' - podcasts are audio. I will die on this hill.

Because some podcasts (including mine) have both audio and video versions. Same thing with radio stations that release videos of their shows. I would count people who watch episodes as podcast listeners/viewers, but I get why people reject the thought of videos as podcasts too.

It’s weird but we have plenty of people that only watch our show on YT. I don’t get it but 🤷🏻

maybe they're being lackadaisical about it, they mostly consume the video version so they just refer to it that way?

You’d be surprised. Some people want to watch the people talk to each other. Also YouTube is way better for discovery. I’ve caught myself watching clips like a normal video sometimes.

You don’t have a “video podcast,” you have a web series.

I listen to YouTube videos while doing other things if they’re mostly informative 🤷♂️ But I usually know when I can do that vs the need to actually them. It’s partly due to a lack of time.
