My kids have 5-10 math problems and one short reading passage with 2-3 comprehension questions each day, Monday through Thursday. It is 10-15 minutes worth of work. I don’t mind, and neither do they. It keeps their skills sharp, and I like knowing what they’re learning.

Teacher and parent. I think it is necessary. We have to cover so much in so little time. It’s impossible for them to get it all in a 45 minute block. The practice is needed. I don’t give it every day but a couple days a week is ok to me.

As a parent, it allows me to see exactly what my kids are learning and help them where they're struggling. As a teacher, it's more for the students to practice and parents to see and work with their child. However, it's frustrating to spend time getting homework together and printing for it to not be done by a good portion of students. I send home weekly- do when you have time and return on Friday. I'm thinking of revamping this year though.

World History teacher here. I’m not giving out no homework. When I get off work I go home and chill. If I give them homework they can’t chill. Then I’ll have to grade it and then I can’t chill. Then we’ll be stressed in the classroom over homework then we gotta talk about it and that takes time away from learning so I just don’t give homework. Everyone’s brains needs to relax

I honestly don’t agree with homework but I understand that everything can’t get done in one class session.

High school journalism teacher: no homework and no tests. Each day we review, learn, practice, create. I like to see students do their work with me there to coach.

I’m a teacher and parent. My school requires me to give homework so I have to assign it and my children who attend the same school have to complete it. I give 4 math problems each night and 1 lesson in my required software per week. My students tell me the nightly problems take them around 10 minutes each day, which I don’t feel is out of line. I encourage them to work on it when they have spare time. I would prefer they spend after school time with family, playing, reading or doing a hobby.
