Just read a post that suggested Gen X “has lived through more tech innovation than any other generation.” I’m Gen X, and I’ve seen some shit, but I immediately thought about my ‘Greatest Generation’ great aunt Ann, who was born in 1903, and lived until 1989. Born before the Model T, just before airplanes, before digital computers, even transistors! Before refrigerators replaced ice boxes in homes. She witnessed the Atomic Age, TV, early home computers, and regular Shuttle launches. 🤯

The majority of the BIG changes we Gen X'ers have gone through were shared by folks from the Greatest Generation up through our Boomer parents. And honestly, I'd argue your great aunt's generation dealt with more BIG change than we ever have (or hopefully ever will).
3 小時內	Sin O Nymph neurospicymeatball	Granny. Born in 1918 during the previous pandemic. Lost her mom to it 3 years later (no vaccines—lots of headstones 🪦 in hometown from that year & the next). She lived a transition from outhouses & coal furnace heat (if you were 😇💸) to her own iPhone. She left in 🍂 2019, just before this pandemic. Mindboggling witness.
4 小時內	Rebecca Raphael rebraph7	GenX here. I had a great-grandmother, of blessed memory, who lived 1894-1996. She saw far more change than I have yet. Then again, climate change may out me ahead of her. I wish it were not so.
