Honest question- I get the sentiment but how far do you go to sacrifice your own kid for the good of the system? In full transparency we did all 3 options and even had one drop out and get a GED because of severe anxiety. Can’t you work to improve the system and still give your kids the best possible education?

Except it doesn’t cover the fact that our money/taxes that pay for public schools stays with the public schools. My parents still paid the same taxes while we did without (I didn’t have non-hand-me-downs until I had my first job) in order to afford textbooks (also handed down).

Except that it can be less expensive to homeschool as there are so many free resources.. so it isn't just people who have more money are bailing --and then the question is why people have left? Some of us have kids with mental health struggles or learning issues. If our kids are being bullied for instance, should we continue to keep them in a place that harms them "for the greater good" of systemic change that won't happen before their time in school is up? Or should we prioritize our own kids?
