I just told my job my 8 mo old son was projectile vomitting and had diarrhea and I needed to take him to urgent care to which they responded “we cannot approve your request at this time but hope your son feels better.”Let this be a reminder to take all you sick, PTO, and vacation days because I can not stress this enough these jobs do not care you, your family or your well being.

They were like well we are short staffed(it was a preschool, and the director didn't want to come out of her office to help with the kids because the extra aide called in sick)....I'm like I don't care what yall do but I'm leaving, needless to say I only stayed at that job like two months after that happened.

I had strict instructions that I couldn’t lift for 6 months because it would tear part of the operation and potentially kill me but I could do everything else. The manager at the time allowed workers to scream in my face that I wasn’t doing my job. Ironically my job was caring for others. So I got trained up and started my own business and left xx

It's unpaid time away from work, of course, but I didn't think businesses have as much power to deny the time off (if the employee qualifies for FMLA)
