The most interesting to me watching footage of the Florida hurricanes is how so many people don't seem prepared for the flooding, which seems to happen a lot. Their lives are just floating in the water, shoes and papers, etc. You'd think they'd pick stuff up off the floor and maybe store it higher up or something.

It’s very sad that your response to seeing people’s lives floating in the water is, “wow, should have put stuff up higher.” I saw video from one couple that actually did that, and the surge went to nearly 6 feet and flooded everything they had stored higher on their counters. I guess they didn’t prepare
一天內	LE lynnie_elaine	We never really know how bad it will be. It could be nothing, or it could be a 6 ft storm surge. This one people had about 24hrs or less to pack their lives up and evacuate. There are people that don’t have the means to evacuate. There are people that are bed ridden or no way to get out, so they stay and hope and pray. None of the hurricanes are the same.
