I’ve found after many years in this business where the rule is there are no rules, that almost anything within reason works. Most actors these days have their reps listed with SAG, IMdB, ActorsAcess, their websites or IG profiles. That being said, some of my biggest jobs in the past (a CBS series, and two pretty big pilots) all came from people I knew, who recommend someone call me in. Manifest destiny, or a fluke. Casting Magic. No one can ever nail the formula because there isnt one.

Email to myself or my manager including a script and project breakdown. Possibly an invitation for lunch (or at least coffee) if they are wanting to work below scale, deferred, or on points so there can be an honest discussion of mutual benefit.
