If they did’t have money to tip they should have spent that money at the grocery store

“why come out of you can’t tip” maybe because it’s essentially for me to eat to stay alive. Maybe someone gave me a giftcard or some cash to take myself out. maybe i’m so depressed and sad of sitting in the house that i scraped up just enough money to eat dinner at a table in a restaurant. Some servers feel entitled to a tip. Do i tip my grandma caregiver for literally wiping her ass ? do i tip the doctor for saving my life ? No because they got job that pay them for their hard work.

Tipping culture needs to die

…..naw they should have left a tip. If you sit down and someone services you-be prepared to tip. For people saying maybe they really wanted atmosphere or had a gift card-do carry out and have a picnic at the park.

You’re better than me lol. No I have to pay from my other tips just because of then. To tip out to host, busser and bar. Nah, if you can’t tip please stay home. Idc if you’re nice

wow some people in the comment are taking out of proportion like we know that servers reply on tips to make good money but in this situation this server understands why some ppl can’t tip and was just stating their opinion on it and there’s nothing wrong with the customer being honest! In this day and age some ppl have the money to just eats and not be able to tip! Some have the money for both! Both kinds of ppl come and go, servers will eventually make up for the one that didn’t tip!

Idc idc idc why is it my responsibility to pay servers and not their employers 😭😭😭 and don’t get me wrong I tip, but I wish we would hold businesses accountable and demand a better wage for servers. 

Why do servers think people should skip a WHOLE MEAL bc they can’t tip ? 🤓 like where is the correlation

People have to understand that there is people that would love to tip if the service is great but you have to keep in mind that for some people, things can be expensive. Making food at home is almost the same price as take out. Be mindful that there is people out there even counting there change. It is nothing to take personal. Don’t get mad at your customers. Get mad at your managers/owners/the system that refuses to pay you your worth.

for everyone talking about “he had this and this he could’ve tipped/shouldn’t go out” you never know what someone’s going through. this could possibly be the first time this person has been able to sit down somewhere and eat in a long time. have some compassion, y’all. not everyone’s the enemy!
