Autism parents how long has your child had a meltdown and or tantrum for. I’ll go first. My lovely 9 year old has had a meltdown so far today for an hour and a half. His ABA therapist is just waiting it out. It’s all over denied access to his hoodie. He loves hoodies but it’s hot outside and in the house. We are trying to get him to understand temperatures and he doesn’t want to. It’s really a comfort thing.

18 小時內	Erykah Morgan erykahdanae	You may have tried this already - but have you tried getting an additional hoodie, and cutting the arms off of it for when it’s hot out? It would be cooler but may still give him the textile comfort he needs. If it’s not the texture of the inside of the hoodie that matters to him, but the sleeves do, then there are many very thin t-shirt fabric hoodies that would be cooler. It may be easier on everyone involved if he can have a compromise

My question was how long has your autistic child had a meltdown or tantrum. My child has had lots of meltdowns and tantrums for SEVERAL REASONS. So thank you for those who gave positive feedback. I’m not a new mom to the autism community. I have a 9 year that was diagnosed at 3 and 4 year old that is in the process of getting tested.
