While at Target yesterday, I was browsing all of the wonderful indie author books that are breaking barriers within the industry and selling like crazy in stores… when my mother calls. I tell her what I’m doing and how fantastic book sales are for indies (and how freaking awesome it is), and she immediately says “I’m sorry, honey, but your book will never be picked up by those stores.” 🧵 P1

When my mom heard about it, her only response was “who the hell would want to read that?” I didn’t write again until a few weeks ago.
