Spending 48 hours in Portland Oregon next week and looking for recommendations for a first-time visit. We love food, wine, art galleries and green spaces. Hoping to avoid renting a car.

Hawthorne is a super fun neighborhood. The backstage bar behind Baghdad is fun. And there is a Powell’s books on Hawthorne. You’re spitting distance from Mt Tabor which is one of the best parks. Division is the next big street over (about a half mile walk) and has sooooo many good bars and restaurants.

Hawthorne isn't the best for public transit (just buses) but it's an amazing area. For shopping try Hawthorne itself, Belmont and Division st. all around 30th-50th street!

Hawthorne and Division Street parallel each other. Both are super hip, fun, foodie areas with a ton of great bars and restaurants. A quick Uber/Lyft will hook you up! Art scene is the Pearl (NW PDX) and highly recommended Japanese Gardens and Forest Park.

CIBO on Division is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city. Also, OMA’s on Division is delicious for Asia Fusion.

For green space check out Washington Park. The 63 Trimet bus will take you from Pioneer Park, downtown, to the entrance. It houses the rose garden, Holocaust memorial, Hoyt arboretum, zoo and Japanese garden. A free shuttle travels through it

Bring rain boots and a rain jacket, we're pretty wet right now. Don't let the rain stop you, we sure don't! 😁
