I know there’s a lot of GenXers here, but is anyone an OG Nerd with a dial up 2400 baud modem talking to people on a BBS all hours of the night GenXer? I’m not looking for any of my old friends from 30 years ago. Lots of us are still in touch.

18 小時內	Rob Yoder yoloder	I had a 2400 baud direct connected to a serial WYSE terminal and had to issue the ATDT commands to dial in. I don’t remember the BBS name from my hometown, but in Louisville it was Iglou Internet. Miss that crowd!

20 小時內	Clint Stroupe mcstroupe	Got my 2400 modem as part of a Prodigy kit. Pretty sure I had to use my birthday money. Under the guidance over the phone of the guy from the local Radio Shack, I cracked open my Tandy 1000 RLX HD and popped that puppy in. Did Prodigy, until my Dad got the first phone bill in, as the closest connection number was still long distance. Then started with the local BBS using Terminal on Windows 3.0, until one of the members sent me a bootleg copy through the BBS of ProComm Plus overnight.
