As a home owner, I can confidently say that homeownership isn't nearly the investment you think it is. Between taxes, insurance, renovations, repairs, improvements, HOA fees, etc... You're not making nearly as much as you think you are when you sell that house.

Pay it off, then use the equity to buy the next place, and then rent out the first property, to pay for the homeline you borrowed from. And continue so on. In canada, the government changed the rules for higher taxes, when you hold multiple properties and sell. Then never sell!

So yah folks don't buy a house it's a bad idea. To be honest buying a Condo or whatever is a really bad investment. Buy a house & you'll have your house on your land, now that is a good investment. People want a house by itself, not an apartment in most cases. Condo; Buy an apartment+pay a mortgage=pay Condo fees. You're paying rent for an apartment & a mortgage for an apartment.
