I always say that 5E is right in the middle of crunchier games like Pathfinder/3.5 and very light systems like Numenera, and not really to its benefit. It’s a great intro system that I’ve had fun with but I don’t think it’s great at anything in particular. Personally I’m partial to Free League games and their year zero system (the Alien RPG is a masterpiece) but I agree there’s so many other great systems to explore

42 分鐘內	J.D. (Aspired Geek) aspired_geek	Agreed. 5th Ed is a perfect intro game into TTRPGs. It's light on the rules, favors the heroes and is open for some homebrew if needed. A lot of other TRRPGs are more strict on the rules and have lots more consequence for bad rping. Personally, I'm not of a fan of Pathfinder/ 3.5 than 5th Ed. But, my favorite TTRPGs are things like Vampire: Masquerade, Exalted, Star Wars (FFG), Anima, and Iron Kingdoms.
