True that—-and I believe the whole “I don’t tip, let the restaurant pay a living wage ”is just a crock to avoid tipping; these folks don’t care about the server(s)

America is the only place in the world where it's acceptable to speak to/about your customers like shit if they don't give you their hard earned money to subsidise your wage after already buying the product/service.

If I go out to eat, my contract is between myself and the restaurant. I order my meal, I eat my meal and I pay the restaurant for my meal. The servers, cooks, etc have a contract of employment with the restaurant too. The restaurant is responsible for paying them, not me. I've never tipped in my life and I never will.

Like in any other job, or do you tip everywhere you go? What makes restaurants so different than all other businesses?

No because they are getting my money, just like you stated.

This is why the servers need to demand better pay. I will not be forced to feel guilty by not tipping, I'll tip when and how much I feel or nothing at all. Servers need to give me a reason, and choosing a low paying job doesn't cut it for me.

Just because I don't tip doesn't mean I'm hurting the server.

Literally though! “pay them more” as they DONT PAY THEM. They know the system, you’re standing in solidarity with the wrong people, just tip and move on the argument is exhausted 😅

Tipping should be forever ENDED

way to guilt the customers instead of the companies and businesses underpaying its staff… It ultimately is up to the people working in the industry to stand up and demand fair pay from their employers.
